Founder
David Radi
Founder & Principal Economist
David is an economist who specialises in geopolitics, trade and economic modelling. He joined the UK Civil Service in 2019 as an Economist in the Department for Business and Trade's macroeconomic analysis and modelling team, and was soon promoted to Economic Adviser, leading work on free-trade agreements, sanctions policy, geopolitical alignment and economic model development.
He worked closely with the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, DEFRA and the Cabinet Office, as well as with international partners. His work fed into both internal policy advice and published analysis, and he has presented at international conferences.
David then moved into the Web3 industry, building technical and product skills outside government while continuing his own economic research. In 2026 he founded Matra Economics to bring government-grade economic modelling to organisations that have never had access to it. Every analysis is built around the specific question each partner brings, combining an experienced economist's judgement with a team of AI agents that can build bespoke models and datasets at a pace traditional consultancies can't match.
